Millward and Snell win Kingsmead Forest Stages Rally

by isleofman.com 3rd July 2006
Garage partners Russell Millward and Maurice Snell made it a hat-trick of wins on the longest running club rally on the island, some 9 years after their last win.

The pair, driving a Mitsubishi Evo 3, were joint leaders after the opening stage with last year's winners George Collister and Janet Craine, and it looked set to be a frenetic dual.

However Millward upped the ante and swept to fastest time on each of the remaining tests at Conrhenny Plantation to win by 40 seconds.

Collister maintained second place, while Richard Curphey scored a first ever top three finish in his Vauxhall Nova after Ian Bailey suffered late gearbox problems.
