Manx national week off to a fine start

Organisers of Manx National Week are urging members of the public to get along to as many events as they can to celebrate their island and their culture.

The highlight of course is Tynwald Day on Wednesday - but in recent years the National Week has become a much busier affair.

A varied programme of concerts, sporting events, town and country walks is on offer over the next six days, along with the week-long Flower and Viking festivals.

Committee co-ordinator Laurence Skelly says there is something to interest everyone:
