Hunt on for new air freight carrier

Passenger figures at the airport have shown a close to 3% fall in passenger numbers this June. But Airport Director Phil Pain points out that it was still the second best June total ever (compared to June 2005 which recorded a 10.8% increase). At the same time " strenuous efforts" continue to find a replacement freight carrier after Emerald's withdrawal. The amount carried down from 165 tonnes to 15 tonnes (minus 91%) due to the cessation of the daily Emerald Airways freight service. Strenuous efforts continue to find a replacement for this service, which was an important facility for certain contract customers on the Island. Airport Director Phillip Pain:
