Freedom to Flourish set for take-off

by isleofman.com 5th July 2006
The Isle of Man's new branding concept, "Freedom to Flourish" will be officially launched at St. John's, at lunchtime today (Wednesday).

The occasioned will be marked by the symbolic release of two hundred balloons by Chief Minister, Donald Gelling.

Graham Bell reports:

(Text of attached audio)
The aim of re-branding the Island is to improve all our lives through projecting a positive national identity.

The idea has been the subject of extensive research and consultation and, following a recent Tynwald debate, "Freedom to Flourish" has been formally adopted.

The focus of today's activities will be a government stand on the fair field, visitors to which will be able to question representatives of various departments on a range of branding issues.

And Children will be able to take part in a competition, based on the "Freedom to Flourish" balloons, and how far they travel.
