The opening of the refurbished "wedding cake" building in Douglas has been described as the beginning of a new era for Tynwald, by Speaker of the House of Keys, Tony Brown.
The legislative offices have been enhanced at a cost of ?11million in a scheme which includes an expanded Tynwald library, accommodation for staff and meeting rooms for select committees.
This afternoon (Wednesday) a commemorative plaque was unveiled jointly by President of Tynwald, Noel Cringle, and the Speaker.
