Record number of petitions

A total of 32 petitions for redress of grievance were lodged during the Tynwald Day ceremony yesterday - a record number.

However, it does seem that quite a number are duplicates on the same issue.

Whilst there are no guarantee that any of the issues will be progressed by an MHK or MLC, Chairman of the Tynwald Standing Orders Committee, Tony Brown SHK, says he believes the system is a fair and good one:
