The North American Manx awards are to be expanded, with a reciprocal prize for young people in the United States.
The achievements of six outstanding youngsters were recognised at a ceremony in Douglas this afternoon, and next month the President of Tynwald, Noel Cringle, will make a similar presentation in San Diego, California.
Medallions were handed over to Olivia O'Shea, Lisa Slater, Steven Crowe and Robert Walmsley from Ballakermeen high school, and to Harry Revill and Ayren Kelly from Ramsey Grammar.
