Port Erin Marine lab 'will be missed'

The impending closure of the Port Erin Marine Biological Station is a loss for its students and staff, and the village community, according to laboratory director, Doctor Andrew Brand.

During its 114 year history, the facility has built up a global reputation as an impressive research base, with many of its graduates going onto gain international recognition.

Doctor Brand, who was involved in a series of events relating to the closure at the weekend, believes the laboratory will be much missed:
