Going Batty in Baldrine

by isleofman.com 8th July 2006
The Manx Bat group is holding its annual sleep-over at Baldrine Village Hall tonight (Sat 8th)

There will be a slide show on bats and their habitats, before a walk around Baldrine village after dark, listening to bats on detectors.

Another "bat patrol" will be held at dawn to watch the animals returning to their roosts.

The Bat group hopes to increase their knowledge of bats in the area, and there will also be a moth trap running to see the sort of insects that the bats will be hunting.

One of the organisers of the event, Nick Pinder, says he hopes such activities will help improve the way the general public view bats

Anyone is welcome to join in, but children under 16 year's of age should be accompanied by an adult. The event gets underway at 8.30pm at Baldrine Village Hall, and if you wish to sleep over you should bring your own sleeping bag!
