Two wins for Martin at tragic race meeting

The motorcycling community is coming to terms with the death of Kirk Michael sidecar passenger Colin Hardman.

He died during practicing on Saturday at the Oliver's Mount Circuit in Scarborough.

Hardman and driver Gary Bryan's outfit crashed at the entrance to The Esses - Bryan is stable in hospital with arm, chest and leg injuries.

The meeting saw two victories for Kirmington's Guy Martin in the Superbike and Classic Superbike races.

Castletown's Chris Palmer won the 125cc race, and also came second in the Classic Superbike and 250cc races, and sixth in the 600cc.

The 600cc was won by Ian Hutchinson, the 400cc was won by Mick Gooding, Chris Swallow topped the 500's, Tim Jackson won the 350cc class and Peter Wakefield brought home the 350cc classic bikes.
