A new dinner club launches this week with a well known speaker, "Rogue Trader" Nick Leeson.
The former Baring's securities trader was made the subject of a Hollywood film, after his part in one of the world's biggest banking scandals.
He will visit the Island this Thursday July 13 as a guest of The Isle of Man Sporting and Dining Club.
He will describe the events in Singapore in 1995, that led to the collapse of Barings Bank. It includes his capture and confinement for nine months in a Frankfurt prison, his six-and-a-half year sentence for forgery and cheating, plus his subsequent battle with cancer.
He will also be signing copies of his latest book 'Back From The Brink - Coping With Stress' in Lexicon bookshop, Douglas between 12.30pm and 1.30pm on Thursday.
The HSBC-sponsored dinner and talk takes place at The Hilton Hotel at 7.30pm. There is still limited ticket availability -contact John Wannenburgh on 495749.
