Records tumbled in the first two races of the Southern 100 meeting last night (Tuesday).
Ian Lougher registered his 28th victory at Billown in taking the Senior Solo Founders race by just over two seconds from Guy Martin, after a race long battle.
Lougher is just three wins behind the man with the most victories at Castletown - Joey Dunlop.
His last lap of 111.097mph was a race lap record.
Although he enjoyed himself, Lougher says the race wasn't without problems:-
Darran Lindsay took the chequered flag in the 600cc class with race and lap records.
Castletown's Chris Palmer set a new race record in the Junior Solo Founders. The home favourite finished 3.3 seconds ahead of Ian Lougher. Darran Lindsay was third and broke the race lap record at 102.901 m.p.h..
Palmer says he didn't really have any problems after making a good start:-
There are four more races this evening (Wednesday). Roads around the Billown Circuit will close at six o'clock and will re-open no later than 9.40pm.
