Racing abandoned at Billown

by isleofman.com 12th July 2006
Wednesday night's racing at the Southern 100 meeting was abandoned.

The evening looked to be going ahead as planned, albeit in wet conditions, but Ian Lougher slid off at Great Meadow during the warm-up lap for the first race.

Before making their decision, organisers delayed matters for over an hour to see if things improved....unfortunately they didn't.

The main problem seemed to be the road surface through Church Bends and onto Great Meadow.

Ian Lougher describes his incident:-
