Friends of Earth launch postcard campaign

Friends of the Earth are hoping MHKs will soon be faced with bulging post-bags demanding action over climate change.

The pressure group wants members of the public to sign postcards calling for an immediate reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.

The cards, showing the revamped Tynwald building against a dark red sky, will then be sent to MHKs as part of a campaign launched on Tynwald Day.

Friends of the Earth says action on climate change is vital - as rising sea levels and severe weather will impact most on coastal areas and islands.

Spokesman Phil Corlett says there are already encouraging signs within the government:
