Call for promenade work controls

The amount of building work on Douglas promenade this summer is unacceptable.

So says Council Leader David Christian, who feels it gives visitors a bad impression of the Island.

In the past it was believed a bylaw existed, restricting activity between May and September, or there was at least an unwritten rule.

Mr Christian thinks it's time for such legislation to be introduced:
