More evidence in Corkill trial

by isleofman.com 18th July 2006
The Julie Corkill Trial has been adjourned until tomorrow morning after the appearance of more evidence.

Cheque stubs and bank statements relating to payments made to tradesman Mark Jones by main contractor Will Kelly have been introduced.

Defence advocate Dawn Jones asked for the adjournment so she could consider the new evidence.

And she was critical of the fact the Police appeared to be continuing their investigations after the court case had started.

A site visit of the Ballacain property by prosecutor Stuart Kneale, Mrs Jones, High Baliff Michael Moyle and Mrs Corkill was due to take place after lunch.

Mrs Corkill denies four charges of false accounting and two of obtaining money by deception, relating to work on holiday cottages at her home at Ballacain, Onchan.
