Parish pump politics?

A Tynwald committee is being accused of showing a "parish pump mentality", after a report it produced highlighted the need for more car parking facilities, in places such as Castletown, Ramsey and Peel.

Onchan MHK Peter Karran believes the Standing Committee on Economic Initiatives could have come up with more imaginative ideas to boost the Island's economy.

The report says that in order to attract businesses to places outside Douglas the right infra-structure, including car parks have to be in place.

But Mr Karran (pictured) isn't impressed:
