Mike Hunt goes to Whitley Council

The ongoing case of the school-crossing patrol officer who was suspended from his position at Marown school has been referred to Whitley Council.

Michael Hunt became embroiled in a dispute with the Department of Transport over the safety of crossing points for the chilldren.

Whilst recent moves to address the problem there would seem to have alleviated the problem, Mr Hunt, who has always maintained he was merely trying to do his job and ensure that schoolchildren could cross the road at the busy junction in safety, remains suspended.

Secretary of the Employees side of Whitley Council, Bernard Moffatt, says he believes there have been procedural irregularities in the way in which the case has been handled:
