Tynwald’s been fooled again and the taxpayer will foot the bill.
That is according to an objector after Tynwald approved spending ?5.6 million on a new animal waste reprocessing plant at Richmond Hill.
Andrew Jessop says while no can doubt the existing plant at East Baldwin needs to close, the move shows what he calls the ‘folly’ of government’s incineration proposals.
Mr Jessop (pictured) says, despite it forming part of the design brief, millions of pounds of taxpayers’ money have been spent on a facility which is unable to provide a satisfactory, reliable and cost-effective, disposal route for animal waste:
