Brew fined for disorderly behaviour

by isleofman.com 19th July 2006
A Ramsey man has been fined ?500 by magistrates.

22 year old Paul Brew of Waterloo Road admitted disorderly behaviour on licensed premises.

Rosemary Burnett, prosecuting, said police were called to the Royal George Hotel in Ramsey at 11.25 pm on June 23rd because the defendant was refusing to leave the premises.

Mrs Burnett said Brew was sitting at a table on the pavement outside the public house, which now forms part of the licensed premises. He was aggressive and swearing loudly and refused to stop when asked to do so several times by the police officers.

His advocate said that the defendant accepted that his behaviour was out of order, and because of an alcohol problem he wanted the court to impose a ban from licensed premises, which the magistrates duly did for 12 months.
