Ride for Life 2006

A Regaby man who led a high-profile fundraising campaign to raise more than ?65,000 for four orphaned children is to once again put on his bike leathers in aid of a worthy cause.

Andy Scullard of the Moddey Dhoo motorcycle club organised a series of events which raised funds for the children of former Island resident Diane Chreseson, who was killed following a head-on collision at Hilberry Corner in Onchan in March 2003.

Now he’s aiming to do the same again.

He will be among 250 people taking part in the Ride for Life a week on Sunday.

The concept is simple – riders complete a sponsored lap of the TT circuit and split funds between an overall nominated charity, this year the Joey Dunlop Foundation, and a charity of the individual rider’s choice.

Andy says he also received a surprise phone call from the late Diane Chreseson’s mother:
