Sentence on 28 year old man has been adjourned by magistrates for reports.

Graham Simpson of Derby Road, Douglas, admitted affray.

Rosemary Burnett, prosecuting, said police attended a room at the Glenfaba Hotel in Douglas at 5.40pm on June 17th, following reports of two men fighting.

Simpson admitted that he punched Raymond Partington causing a cut to his left eye.

He told police that Partington had "wound him up"

Simpson was bailed until August the 16th for reports to be prepared.

Three men have each been fined ?500 by magistrates for causing damage to car.

Andrew Peter Edward Krypner (24) of Walpole Avenue, Ramsey; Mark Brian Theobald (24) of Queen's Pier Road, Ramsey; and Matthew Lionel Duxbury (26) of Bride, admitted that they rocked a car in Parliament Street Ramsey at 2.50 am on May 21st causing ?1000 worth of damage.

The car was tipped over on to its side.

Their advocate said it was a stupid prank that misfired and they were prepared to pay the ?1000.

The magistrates ordered this to be done.

A 56 year old woman has been fined ?1100 by magistrates.

Eleanor Quigley of Glen Tramman, Lezayre, admitted drink driving.

Rosemary Burnett, prosecuting, said officers on foot patrol in Lezayre Road at 1.10am on July 2nd alerted mobile police to a car being driven in the Sulby direction which was weaving in the road.

The car was stopped and the driver quickly arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

Samples showed an alcohol content of 207 millligrammes. The legal limit is 80 mg.

Her advocate said the defendant was on a rare night out and, unable to get a taxi, took a chance. She now regretted her actions.

Quigley was disqualified for two years.
