Isle of Man Ladies Golf Champion Caps Preston overcame a huge challenge from Ramsey player Jane Gaines in Thursday evening's Quarter-Finals.

The holder led only twice in the contest at Pulrose - after the first and after the first extra hole!

Caps was two down with only four to play, but scrambled wins on the 15th and 18th greens.

Home favourite Kate Sheppard continued her dominant form with a 6 & 5 win over Shirley Glover. Shirley was 3 up after the first 3 holes.

Ruth Pigott from Peel beat Joanne Hill 4 & 2, and Christina Skelly edged out Sue Kinrade by one hole.
