Toseland loses top spot to Kagayama

by isleofman.com 24th July 2006
Yukio Kagayama scored two wins in the Czech round of the World Superbike Championship- the first after chasing down Island resident and long time leader James Toseland.

However it seems Toseland was lucky to make the start of the first race at all, after a collision with a back marker in morning warm-up trashed his number one engine and chassis.

Toseland took fifth in the second race, having difficulty getting into and out of the right hand corners.

Fellow resident Australian Andrew Pitt had to retire from the leading pack twice with a recurring misfire on his race day machine.
