Kate Sheppard is the new Island Ladies Golf Champion.
The Douglas player beat Christina Skelly by three and two on home soil on Saturday.
The first three holes were halved with pars, then Kate increased her lead to three up by winning the fourth & fifth.
She then found trouble in the bunker on six and conceded the hole to Christina.
Hole seven was halved, but a birdie on the eighth allowed Kate to again go three up. Both players birdied the ninth so with three quarters of the match now gone Kate was three up.
Kate found the bunker again on the 10th and although she made a good recovery, a great putt from Christina enabled her to birdie the hole for a win.
Holes 11, 12,13 and 14 were halved and Kate then won the 15th to again go three up and a half on the 16th was enough for her to close the match.
