Minister faces renewed pressure over hospital

Health Minister Steve Rodan will face further pressure this week to restore 24-hour emergency cover at Ramsey Cottage Hospital.

Campaigner and MLC Leonard Singer (pictured) has called two public meetings on Thursday evening for local people to voice concern over the lack of out-of-hours service for those living in the north of the Island.

The loss of overnight facilities caused a furore three years ago, when thousands took to the streets in protest rallies.

Mr Singer says Tynwald voted last year to re-instate the service but so far it's been words not actions :
