Queen Elizabeth II High School student Michael Stringer has been voted Student of the Year.
The 16-year-old from Peel won the award sponsored annually by Barclays Private Clients International Limited in association with the Department of Education.
Michael was chosen from a shortlist of five students - one from each of the Island's five secondary schools - and wins an all-expenses paid weekend in London plus a cash prize, as does runner-up Rowan James, 16, from Port Erin, a student at Ballakermeen High School.
Each of the Island's secondary schools put forward one outstanding student, following which a panel of judges - two representatives from Barclays, together with deputy director of education Margaret Britton - assessed the students in five categories, academic and sporting achievements, contributions to the arts, their school and the community.
The award was made to the student considered by the judges to be the best all-rounder.
