Age related sight problems

Our eyesight could be suffering because not enought Manx people know about age related eye conditions.

Age Related Macular Degeneration or 'AMD' is the leading cause of blindness in over 50s, but a recent study of the British Isles has found less than half of us have heard of it.

But people can protect their eyes, mainly through increasing their dietary intake of lutein, found in green, leafy vegetables.

Professor Ian Grierson, of Liverpool University, says one of the problems is our general acceptance of just 'getting old':
