Serious injury warning to harbour jumpers

People jumping into Laxey Harbour are not only risking a hefty fine, but their lives as well.

The safety message comes from the local police, as they try to stop people diving in to cool off.

There have been near misses, and a number of cases where the Harbour Master has been abused after challenging people.

Swimming in the area is breaking a bye-law and carries a ?2,500 fine.

PC Andy Reed from Laxey Police Station says he isn't just trying to ruin people's fun (audio file attached):
