Cavendish to ride for T-Mobile

by isleofman.com 28th July 2006
Manx Cycling star Mark Cavendish is edging closer to his goal of turning professional.

From next week, he will ride at events for one of the biggest team's in World cycling - T-Mobile.

Mark has been taken on as a "stagiaire" - cycling terminology for work experience or an apprenticeship.

Among the races he will contest for T-Mobile is the Tour of Britain.

The Commonwealth Games Gold medallist has been on the T-Mobile Development programme since last year.

His performances in Melbourne and a second place on the Tour of Berlin have enhanced his progress towards a professional contract with a ProTour team sooner rather than later.
