Ride for Life today

by isleofman.com 29th July 2006
Motorcyclists will line up for a sponsored lap of the TT course this afternoon (Sunday) to raise funds for the Joey Dunlop Foundation and other charities.

The Ride for Life event was first held in 2004 when more than 90 bikers helped raise more than ?11,000 for organiser Gavin Smith's nominated charity, the special care baby unit at Noble's Hospital.

Today, up to 250 people will take part, including Andy Scullard of the Moddey Dhoo motorcycle club.

He’s raising funds for the four orphaned children of former Island resident Diane Chreseson... who was killed following a head-on collision at Hilberry Corner in Onchan in March 2003.

He says he also received a surprise phone call from Diane Chreseson’s mother ahead of today’s event.
