Health Minister says no cuts at Ramsey

The Health Minister Steve Rodan has spoken out to refute suggestions that cuts in services at Ramsey Cottage Hospital are being considered.

Rumours to that effect have been circulating in the north of the Island after last week's public meeting in Ramsey, which heard renewed calls for the return of 24-hour services at the hospital.

He says specialist clinics and new medical services are to be based there.

Tynwald has resolved to extend the Minor Injuries Unit service, but only when resources allow - and that has not been possible so far.
