Motorcyclist died of multiple injuries

by isleofman.com 3rd August 2006
The Coroner has heard a motorcyclist involved in a road accident near Ballacraine at the weekend died after receiving a total of ten significant injuries.

Michael Moyle was told 41 year old Paul Murphy passed away at Noble's Hospital, where he was taken by ambulance, following the incident on Sunday afternoon.

Mr Moyle asked if he had been taking part in a charity bike ride which had been taking place around the TT course at the time, but was told police understood that wasn't the case.

Mr Murphy's body was released so a funeral could be arranged and the inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed while further enquiries are made.

Earlier this week police said Mr Murphy's Honda Firestorm machine had collided with a car.

Mr Murphy, a supervisor in the Emergency Services Joint Control Room, from High View Road, Douglas, was heading towards Peel when the accident happened.
