Ramsey hospital issue is electioneering

by isleofman.com 3rd August 2006
Health Minister Steve Rodan says he thinks the Ramsey Cottage Hospital issue is more about electioneering than public concern.

He says the Department of Health and Social Security has had few complaints about the lack of twenty-four hour emergency cover recently.

But the issue has surfaced while Tynwald and the House of Keys are in recess, giving no opportunity for political debate.

Mr Rodan says this makes him suspect some politicians are stirring up the issue for their own ends.
