Lunchbox blues

High salt, high sugar and low fibre.

The average contents of a school packed-lunch in the Isle of Man.

The Department of Health is considering the results of a recent lunch box audit which involved 20 primary schools around the Island.

Hospital Dietician, Sarah Surgeon, says the findings are largely unsurprising, although it's disappointing only 45% of lunches contained a piece of fruit.

She says the food we give our children now really does impact on their future health.
