Road improvement scheme at Braddan Bridge

by isleofman.com 5th August 2006
The Department of Transport is carrying out the first part of a major road improvement scheme in the area around Braddan Bridge.

A wall at the junction with Saddle Road has been demolished and will be rebuilt in a way which improves visibility for motorists.

People turning left from Peel Road will get a better view of any vehicles or obstructions around the corner, and those emerging from Saddle Road will no longer have to contend with a "blind spot" when looking back towards Douglas.

The work will be completed in time for the start of practicing for the Manx Grand Prix, on August 19th.

A major scheme, involving futher work on the junction, and the one by the Jubilee Oak, will be carried out next year.
