Impressive fifth place for Corlett and Sweetman

There was success for local pairing John Corlett and Roy Sweetman as they claimed an impressive fifth place finish in the Historic Rally.

Philip Atkinson, with local co-driver Nicholas Kaighin, came home in 15th; Guy Simpkiss and Debbie Perry, both of Ramsey, were 18th; Island duo Glenn Leece and John Tarrant were 24th with Matthew Carter and Mark Collister 27th.

Adrian Kermode and Maurice Beckett; Douglas man Martin Freestone and Joanne Oakley; David Luton and Norman Quayle and Stephen Higgins and Melanie Caple were all forced to retire.
