Karran demands answers on MEA

by isleofman.com 7th August 2006
Onchan MHK Peter Karran is urging the Chief Minister to take urgent action following the latest round of electricity price rises.

He wants to know what the Council of Ministers is doing about the increased charges, and whether Tynwald will be recalled to put forward a package of proposals to deal with the issue.

Mr Karran also feels the public has a right to know what progress is being made in the court case involving the Manx Electricity Authority, based on the legality of loans ordered by the former board.

The Chief Minister told Manx Radio the Council of Ministers will be discussing the 14?% rise on Thursday.
