Wall Street Journal correction

by isleofman.com 8th August 2006
The Wall Street Journal has apologised after its front page coverage of a report into tax havens turned the Island into a ‘quasi-independent republic’.

The leading American newspaper had mentioned the Isle of Man in connection with a story about two Texas billionaires who are alleged to have avoided tax using companies registered here.

In a correction, the Wall Street Journal said the Island is in fact ‘a British Crown dependency with a parliamentary democracy form of government.’
