Commercial rates for nursing home waste

Douglas Town Council has voted to start charging nursing homes commercial rates for waste removal and disposal.

The motion was passed at yesterday's council meeting.

Public Works Committee Chairman Richie McNicholl (pictured) says the homes are businesses and should be treated accordingly.

He added this is already common practice elsewhere:
