Digger prepares 'the Tower' for renovation

A digger is preparing the way for the major renovation work, planned for the Tower of Refuge.

Its currently being used to scoop out rocks and improve the slipway onto the Conister Rock.

Work on putting the historic building, which dates from 1842, back into shape after a battering from the weather will continue next year.

It planned to place scaffolding on the weatherside to enable repointing and rebuilding next year.
