A long-held ambition of the 'King of the Roads', TT legend Joey Dunlop, could soon be realised.
That’s after plans to provide holiday accommodation for people with disabilities moved a step nearer.
The Joey Dunlop Foundation's gained approval to build a ?750,000 holiday home in Victoria Road in Douglas.
It will feature five family-sized rooms and will be available to the public 46 weeks of the year, with the remaining six weeks reserved for injured riders and their families to enjoy racing.
And the team behind the facility remain hopeful it could be in place in time for next year’s centenary TT.
One of the Foundation’s trustees, Kevin Quirk, says Joey and his wife Linda had wanted to help people with disabilities for some time.
