Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Chinese takeaway in Douglas.
The incident took place shortly before 9pm last night (Tuesday) at the Magic Wok on Waverley Terrace.
A man wearing a balaclava walked into the premises and pointed what appeared to be a black handgun at the woman working behind the counter.
He demanded cash from the till which he was given.
He then left the area on foot.
He's described as white, around five foot eight in height, of slim build and around 19-20 years old.
He had no discernible accent and was wearing a dark beige jacket which is thought to be a "Berghaus" style, a dark blue shirt with a striped pattern and black jeans.
He was wearing a balaclava with the eyes and mouth cut out.
Police are asking anyone who was in the area of Waverley Terrace, York Road or Stanley Terrace around the time of the incident, who may have any information, to get in contact with the CID at police headquarters.
They say it was a terrifying ordeal for the women involved and, whilst such incidents are rare on the Island, it is imperative the man is traced.
