A Viking Longhouse Project will see Manx youngsters transported back in time.
A committee was formed a number of years ago, with the aim of building a homestead, within which children can cook and farm.
It will be built at the Ardwhallan Outdoor Education Centre in West Baldwin, and it's hoped it will be completed by March 2008.
The land has now been prepared, and groups are being invited to take part in its construction.
Outdoor Education Officer, Paul Young, describes what the longhouse will look like:
Researching your Manx family history can be a very interesting and rewarding hobby. Trace your roots in the Isle of Man with our helpful of guide.
