An investigation is continuing into an armed robbery in Douglas.

The incident took place shortly before 9pm last night at the Magic Wok Chinese takeaway on Waverley Terrace, when a man wearing a balaclava pointed what appeared to be a black handgun at the woman working behind the counter and demanded cash.

He was given money from the till before leaving the area on foot.

Police say the women who worked in the shop were "terrified " by the incident
