OFT energy statement due

by isleofman.com 19th August 2006
The Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading is expecting to make a statement early next week after an investigation into rising energy prices.

The news comes at the end of a 10-day period in which the Manx Electricity Authority and Manx Gas have announced price hikes of 14.5% and between 8% and 12% respectively.

OFT findings have already been submitted to the Council of Ministers.

Last week, it was announced a Government Task Force would be set up to address the issue of spiralling energy costs.
