Tribute has been paid to former Mayor of Douglas and the last surviving alderman, Ernest Ackary.
A freeman of the borough, he passed away suddenly and peacefully at his home on Friday morning at the age of 92.
He leaves a wife Irene, two daughters and five grandchildren.
