Neighbourhood Watch

by isleofman.com 23rd August 2006
There could soon be new life breathed into the Island’s Neighbourhood Watch schemes after police announced a new liaison officer has been appointed.

PC Tony Lawler will meet with organisers and encourage new schemes to be set up in the area covered by the Eastern Neighbourhood Policing Team, namely Onchan, Willaston, Anagh Coar, Pulrose, Farmhill, Braddan and Laxey.

A meeting will be held in Onchan Village Hall on Wednesday, September 20 at 7.30pm for all existing coordinators and anybody interested in getting involved in Neighbourhood Watch.

PC Lawler says he wants to get away form the image of nosey neighbours and twitching curtains while showing that preventing crime is everybody’s responsibility.
