There's no question of speed limits being introduced by stealth on the Island
So says Director of Highways Bruce Hannay.
Mr Hannay (pictured) claims the recent questionnaire sent out by the Department of Transport showed that more individual speed limits would be acceptable to many of those who responded, albeit they didn't want an all-island limit.
And he says speed limits are only introduced after proper procedures have been followed:
