An Isle of Man online poker company has announced a ten million dollar tournament which it claims is the most international poker event in history.
PokerStars, based in Athol Street in Douglas, says the fifth annual PokerStars.com World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) will begin on September 16 with a guaranteed prize pool of $10 million.
It’s expected to attract players from more than 80 nations, competing for commemorative gold bracelets and millions in cash prizes.
Running over 16 days, the online festival will end on October 1 with the single richest tournament in online poker offering a prize pool of three million dollars.
